Overview
The U261-001-BT4 Mini Bluetooth 4.0 (Class 1) USB Adapter connects to your computer or laptop’s USB port to provide instant Bluetooth wireless capability. Ideal for wireless communication with Bluetooth 4.0-enabled smartphones, tablets, keyboards, mice, headsets and printers, this low-profile device protrudes less than 3/16 of an inch (5 mm) from the USB port, so it can remain connected while your laptop is inside a sleeve, briefcase or backpack.
The U261-001-BT4 has a wireless range of 164 feet (50 meters) and supports data transfer rates up to 3 Mbps. You can connect up to seven Bluetooth devices at the same time. It requires very little power to function, and its built-in security ensures your pairing, encryption and authentication remains private. It’s also backward compatible with previous Bluetooth versions. Just plug the U261-001-BT4 into your Windows® or Linux computer or laptop, and the driver automatically installs.

Questions & Answers
It is crucial that pre-existing Bluetooth software on the host computer be disabled and/or uninstalled prior to installing and operating the provided software. Failure to do so may result in reduced functionality or a failure by the computer to recognize the software correctly. If a "Product Key" is requested while operating the software, this is due to either a conflict with the provided software and pre-existing Bluetooth software, or a failed installation. The computer should be restarted following installation of the included BlueSoleil software.
Any built-in Bluetooth functionality must be disabled, and any third-party Bluetooth applications should be uninstalled or disabled prior to installing BlueSoleil.
No. The only authorized BlueSoleil application approved for use with the U261-001-BT4 must come from the CD or be downloaded from tripplite.com. Downloads/installations from other sources, including the BlueSoleil website, will require an activation code that must be purchased from BlueSoleil. The installation files on the included CD/tripplite.com download are already activated and authorized for use with the U261-001-BT4.
It is recommended that you do not modify the application in any way. The BlueSoleil application allows you to modify settings, but doing so may, in some cases, create issues with using the U261-001-BT4.
