Features
3kVA/3kW/208V Battery Backup for IT Installations and Edge Networks
This 9PX rack-mount online double-conversion UPS system provides reliable battery backup and AC power protection against blackouts, brownouts, surges and line noise that can damage valuable IT equipment or destroy data. An included transformer permits a step-down voltage from 208V to 120V to allow connection of a wider range of components. The 9PX3K3UNTF5 is superlative power management for education, commercial, financial or healthcare networking components, including Cisco switches and servers.
Expandable Internal Battery Backup Keeps You Operational Through Power Outages
The field-replaceable, hot-swappable valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery modules allow you to work through short power failures and give you enough time to safely save files and shut down your system in case of a prolonged blackout. Exclusive ABM technology increases battery life by 50 percent and closely monitors battery health to provide advanced notice when batteries need replacing. You can also connect up to four extended battery modules (9PXEBM180RT, sold separately) for hours of extended runtime.
Included Gigabit Network Interface Offers 24/7 Remote Access
The NETWORK-M2 Gigabit network card enables full remote configuration and management, including load shedding, reboots of connected equipment and safe shutdowns. UPS firmware can also be flashed remotely through the NETWORK-M2 without dropping the load, so you don’t have to plan for downtime. The card meets both UL 2900-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 standards for cybersecurity, which were developed to address the vulnerability of connected devices to known malware/exploits and to protect business from these risks. The optional Environmental Monitoring Probe Gen 2 (EMPDT1H1C2, sold separately) provides a variety of environmental monitoring capabilities, including temperature and humidity conditions.
NEMA Outlets Protect Your Connected Components
Two L6-20R, one L6-30R and 18 5-20R managed outlets provide connected equipment with pure sine wave AC output and allow you to monitor power consumption down to the outlet group level. Power provided by these outlets is filtered to protect connected equipment against damaging surges and line noise.
Rotating LCD Interface Keeps You Informed at a Glance
The intuitive front-panel LCD provides control settings and critical information to help diagnose any issues. The interface rotates to accommodate both rack-mount and tower configurations, and it tilts up to 45 degrees for more comfortable viewing.
Advanced Communications Ports Allow for Automatic Saves and Shutdowns
RS-232 and USB ports connect to a serial-enabled device for a variety of communication options (cables are included). A dry-contact relay port can be programmed through the LCD to provide reliable communications to automation and industrial components. The RPO/ROO connectors permit emergency shutdown or remote restart of all connected equipment.
Versatile Installation Options
You can mount the 9PX3K3UNTF5 in 6U of space in an EIA-standard 19-inch rack using the included 4-post rail kit. You can also adapt it for tower installation using the included support stands. The six-foot power cord with NEMA L6-30P plug connects to a compatible AC outlet. A cable gland and Phillips screwdriver are included for alternate hardwire input connection. For installation in 2-post rackmounts, one RK2PC mounting kit is required for each UPS, EBM, PPDM, or transformer.

Questions & Answers
Online UPSs provide the highest level of protection by isolating equipment from raw utility power—converting power from AC to DC and back to AC. Unlike other topologies, this double conversion method provides zero transfer time to battery for sensitive equipment since the electricity is already coming from the UPS. The online, double conversion UPS topology is best applied to mission-critical equipment and locations where utility power is poor or highly unreliable.
To allow for future expansion, we recommend that you install a UPS at approximately 75 percent capacity. In addition, the batteries degrade over time; by oversizing, you provide room for error. In the online Eaton UPS sizing tool (Eaton.com/UPSselector) we’ve included a “capacity used” column.
There can be a significant increase in runtime. Generally speaking, a UPS that provides five minutes at full load will provide 15 minutes at half load.
Yes, you can monitor your Eaton UPS with any UPS or facility management software that supports the industry standard Management Information Base (MIB, RFC 1628) as long as you install the optional connectivity card. Most UPS vendors support this MIB and all good facility management software, including OpenManage, OpenView and Tivoli also support it. Extended Eaton Advanced MIBs are available for greater levels of detail. You can remotely control your Eaton UPS using the Eaton UPS management software or through a secure web interface if you choose the optional connectivity card, which also allows for automated email alerts for power events without needing to install any software.
